The Department's capital works planning process enables building projects to be targeted to meet emerging demographic trends and educational needs.

Pursuant to Building for the Future (the "Facilities Task Force Report"), revised criteria now fosters transparent decision-making in the development of priorities and facilities projects.

Regional Offices identify schools for inclusion in the capital works planning program, and these proposals are assessed on a statewide basis using the criteria found in the Building Futures Policy
