The Principal Induction Toolkit provides a framework for regional induction programs and was developed to ensure new principals receive appropriate professional development in key areas of responsibility. The toolkit contains a description of the body of knowledge and skills newly appointed principals require to fulfil the administrative and managerial responsibilities of their role. The toolkit aims to direct first time principals to appropriate DEECD references and other relevant resources such as the Victorian Government Schools Reference Guide, develop principals’ knowledge of these and their application in daily operations. The Principal Induction Toolkit is available as an online resource for new principals and can be viewed at http://www.education.vic.gov.au/proflearning/schoolleadership/PIT/default.htm. |
